Hello again, Triptonauts!
In my last entry, I talked about my passion for music and the role it plays in my life as a musician and artist. I also mentioned my fascination with the trippy side of things and my desire to share my thoughts and experiences with you all through this blog.
Today, I want to talk about the creative process and the struggles that come with it. As artists, we all face obstacles and self-doubt at some point in our careers. It's a part of the journey, but it can also be incredibly frustrating and disheartening. That's why I highly recommend a book called "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. This book is a must-read for any artist or creative looking to overcome the resistance and push through to success.
In "The War of Art," Pressfield explores the concept of "resistance," which he defines as the internal and external forces that hold us back from creating and achieving our goals. He talks about how these forces can manifest in different ways, from procrastination and self-doubt to fear and distractions. Pressfield also offers practical advice and strategies for overcoming resistance, such as setting daily goals, establishing a daily routine, and surrounding yourself with supportive people.
One of the things I appreciate most about "The War of Art" is that Pressfield doesn't sugarcoat the creative process. He acknowledges that it's hard work and that there will be setbacks and failures along the way. But he also reminds us that the struggle is worth it because the rewards of creating are immeasurable.
I highly recommend "The War of Art" to anyone looking to improve their creative process and overcome the obstacles that come with it. You can find the book on Amazon, just follow this link https://amzn.to/3wCwG8n
